Following a nightmare camping holiday at Kessingland Beach I feel I must let fellow campers know. The first thing that greeted us was what looked like an uncared for park. Granted the salty air is not friendly towards paint work but this was i need of attention. The organisation is none existant we were just told any where over the bridge. The bridge was rickety and did not feel safe. The field was absolutly disgusting, huge rutts and cracks everywhere. The camping field is situated in the furthest corner and gives the feeling of segregation. Now I am not a snob and by my own addmission not the cleanest of people, however there are certain standards that should be met and clean toilets are one. One of the toilets (which later turned out to be the DISABLED) was blocked for 48 hours after we reported it to park manager. After writing to them and complaining we were told that it was out of order. The swimming pool area was dirty and staff rude. This site would in my opinion put some families off camping. The attitude of the staff seems to me is that campers are 3rd rate citizens. I am not going to let this issue go and will fight long and hard if any other members have any reviews/comments concerning Park Resorts Kessingland Beach, Lowestoft, Suffolk please email me (substitute at for @) deanowat1 at yahoo.co.uk and if possible please include photos. I will respect all anonimity and will not divulge any names or contact details.

...two years ago. We got a last minute caravan on the spur of the moment. Dire. Wosrt holiday ever, not helped by the fact that the weather was awful, and the whole area is pretty grim.
I wouldn't mount a campaign though - the place is a hole, but you and I are clearly not the target market. If you enjoy amusment arcades, bingo, dirty toilets and dodgy local teenagers hanging out in their Max power cars - Xanadu!
There was a nice, but not cheap, restaurant on the front about half a mile down from the site. The overpriced and manky fish and ship chop and over priced and atrocious bar food (Heron + Microwave = barely edible crap) - were foul. |
